Pride, popsicles, and a perfect breeze Hello, Friend,
School pride soared the afternoon Mustard Seed hosted its first-ever multi-school football tournament. The only football pitch the three visiting teams knew about was the one near the center of town. When they came through the school's gate and saw the expansive green field, I could hear their surprise and excitement.
Under perfect skies with a gentle breeze, Mustard Seedians played their hearts out, nearly defeating a bigger opponent in a nail-biting match that came down to a single penalty kick.
Teachers, students, parents, and town officials gathered on the sidelines—some enjoying popsicles from a bicycle vendor—to witness something special: a day when the dream of a campus that nurtures academics, athletics, and community became beautifully, joyfully real.
Gratefully, Elaine P.S. Remembering with gratitude Howard Lundin, a major contributor to the football pitch development.
P.P.S. As of today, ten people have donated to ensure breakfast for Mustard Seed students! That $698 will fund more than one week in the upcoming term. There is still time for you to give and keep students fed, healthy, and ready to learn and play. |
