Day 2 as a national exam assessor

Greetings, Friend,

In October, Stuart, from Mustard Seed's pioneer class, started his first real job as a midwifery instructor at a nursing school. Last week I told you about that exciting beginning. This week? The plot thickens. A few days ago, Stuart sent me this photo...

His message was: Today is my Day 2 as an assessor in the national exams.

Me: It looks nice. How did you get that job?

Stuart: Every end of semester, the Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board reshuffles clinical instructors and tutors from the different nursing schools to run the exams. My name was submitted as part of the Kalungi School of Nursing staff, and Dr. Peter was happy I was selected.

Me: I hope you are feeling proud and hopeful.

Stuart: I feel very very happy 😃.

Me: Aww, you deserve it.

Stuart: Did you know about these additional benefits??

Me: Only in general.

Stuart: You see, when Kalungi paid me an allowance for marking internal exams, I was shocked. Then, after I heard about this opportunity...WOW. I am now a happy man, and my mom is also so happy.

Me: That's great.

Stuart: And here, this degree in Midwifery is in high demand.

Later, I told Dr. Peter how pleased I was. He replied, "Stuart is a very good boy. I told him the dos and don'ts, and I'm sure he will not mess up his future." Dr. Peter doesn't give praise lightly; he's been training medics for over 20 years.

Talk about a happy ending 🥰👏 (that's really a beginning).

Gratefully,

Elaine

P.S. A heartfelt THANK YOU if you've already chosen a gift from the Holiday Gift Catalog! If not, there's still time— I'm eyeing a laptop for Sara, art supplies and sports balls for Mary, baking equipment for Kirsten...
