| | Where Soul Meets Matter: Clinical and Social Applications of Jungian Sandplay Therapy
Eva Pattis, Dr.Phil.
October 26 & 27, Zurich, Switzerland Featuring Allan Guggenbühl, John Hill, Paul Brutsche, Kathrin Asper, Ursula Wirtz, Murray Stein, Doris Lier, Bernard Sartorius, and Penelope Yungblut
In this year’s Zürich Lecture Series, Dr. Eva Pattis will describe her extensive pioneering work with adults and children in many different cultures. In particular, she will speak about two distinct forms of sandplay that she has developed over several decades and has used in a wide variety of challenging contexts. One approach focuses on processes of kinesthetic imagination, inviting patients to use only sand and water in their play. The other, Expressive Sandwork(R), is a method developed especially for children in social crisis situations. In both cases, Dr. Pattis will show the psyche’s astonishing capacity to regulate itself when free and protected space allows for the creation of expressive images and narratives. In these innovative applications of sandplay, the psyche’s self-regulating tendency becomes remarkably visible and tangible. Click here to see a short interview with Eva Pattis by Murray Stein.
