| | Psychosocial Wednesdays Featuring Jungian analyst & Author John Beebe
Wednesday, March 18 3 p.m. EDT via Zoom
Join John Beebe as he discusses his book, Psychiatric Treatment: Crisis, Clinic and Consultation. Originally published in 1975 and now reissued in the “Jungianeum Re-Covered Classics in Analytical Psychology” Series, the book confronts the enduring reality that clinical work begins before one feels ready. In this session, Beebe revisits a text written to accompany clinicians at precisely that threshold. Bringing together conceptual clarity and detailed case material, the book addresses three pivotal arenas of practice—crisis intervention, ongoing clinical care, and psychiatric consultation—while tracing the living dynamics between patient, therapist, and institution. Nearly five decades after its first publication, this recovered classic remains a grounded, experience-based guide for psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and trainees stepping into the responsibilities of clinical decision-making.

Depth Calls to Depth: Spiritual Direction and Jungian Psychology in Dialogue
Depth Calls to Depth: Jungian Psychology and Spiritual Direction in Dialogue draws on the author’s dual background as a certified Jungian analyst and psychologist as well as a spiritual director with a master’s degree in theology. Over the last several decades, spiritual direction has moved beyond its monastic origins to become a major force in contemporary spirituality. Its emphasis on direct spiritual experience offers a natural parallel to Jung’s model of psychospiritual healing.
