Subject: Cambridge Film Festival launches brand new Film Festival. AMPLIFY!

We're incredibly excited to announce that we have joined forces with three of the UK’s largest regional film festivals (Bath, Brighton and Cornwall) to present...
Unprecedented times call for an unprecedented response!

AMPLIFY! Film Festival is the most ambitious collaboration between UK film festivals ever undertaken and will present a truly diverse programme of films, many of them UK premieres, to you our Cambridge Film Festival audience, as well as audiences across the country.
The full programme is available now on our website and bookings have opened.

AMPLIFY! will open on November 6 and run for 17 days through until November 22.

Take a look at the Festival website for the full line up of AMPLIFY! films and all the information on when films can be viewed, how to book, and everything there is to know about this brand new film festival.

We're proud to be able to incorporate the F-Rating for all Amplify! Films directed and/or written by women.

The F Rating was developed by FilmBath’s Holly Tarquini in 2014.
If a film also features significant women on screen in their own right it is Triple F-Rated. The rating is designed to support and promote women and redress the imbalance in the film industry.

The AMPLIFY! programme has been curated by the four partner festivals, Cambridge, Bath, Brighton and Cornwall, and we think it brings the very best of what each of us does.

Highlights include UK premieres of festival gems such as Viggo Mortensen’s directorial debut Falling, a Cannes 2020 official selection fresh off its successful screening at San Sebastian International Film Festival, where Mortensen was honoured with the Donostia Award for his work. Following its Sundance Film Festival screening earlier this year, Luxor, starring Andrea Riseborough, will hit the UK screen for the first time along with Patrick (De Patrick), which casts Flight Of The Conchords’s Jemaine Clement in a Belgian dark comedy about a nudist camp.

The Documentary strand includes Chilean film The Mole Agent, winner of San Sebastian International Film Festival’s Audience Award for Best European Film and Caught in the Net, a compelling story of a virtual flytrap set for online paedophiles.

Since 2011, Catalan cinema has been an important and popular element of the Cambridge Film Festival. AMPLIFY! will present a selection of new films from Catalonia, including the UK premieres of The Innocence (La Inocència), Keith Haring 1989 Barcelona and My Mexican Bretzel.
