| To the Members of the Pines,
Members of the Pines Country Club justifiably want and deserve a restaurant operation that meets our specific needs and makes us proud to bring family and friends to have fun in an environment that provides quality food and beverages. Unfortunately, our current restaurant operator has not met our needs and aspirations for food and beverages for too long. Last year, because of COVID 19, most restaurants in our community struggled and some have failed. Last year the restaurant at the Pines was no exception. This year however should have been a different story. In spite of our best efforts to work with our current restaurant operator, it was not.
As a result, the Pines Board of Directors has informed our restaurant operator that the Pines will not be renewing the food and beverage agreement for 2022 and is terminating the current food and beverage agreement effective immediately. This was not the outcome that any of us wanted but given the ongoing deficiencies in the restaurant operation, we had no other reasonable choice.
Therefore, from now through the remainder of the year (2021), our members are welcome to bring their own food and beverages to the Pines. In addition, upon request for the remainder of this year, the Pines Country Club will arrange catering for our special events from various local food and beverage vendors. We also have arranged to have outside food vendors available on Saturdays and Sundays to sell food and beverages to members. Your support of these vendors will be helpful with retaining their services through the rest of the golfing season on weekends.
In the meantime, be assured that the Board of Directors is vigorously exploring all available options for a restaurant operator with a proven track record that can bring a unique food and beverage experience to the Pines to serve our members. The operator ultimately selected will be required to fully utilize our banquet facilities and provide for catering and special events. As this process unfolds, your Board of Directors will keep you updated as to the progress being made. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding and encourage any suggestions you may have concerning this issue.
