Pilgrim is once again teaming up with Coat Angels! Imagine not having a warm winter coat when the city's temperatures are dropping. Help us reach our goal to provide 65 coats to 65 Chicago students. Here's how you can help: 1) DONATE any amount of money ($50 will buy a coat, fleece, hat and gloves) or BUY a new kids coat and donate it. Donations will be accepted until November 27th in the school office. AND/OR 2) VOLUNTEER to shop on the evening of Wednesday, November 29th or help distribute coats during the school day on December 6th. If you would like to participate on one of these dates, please let Lori Shores know as soon as possible at

Christmas Boxes – Can You Help? Continuing our tradition, we will be assembling Christmas “Prayer and Care” Boxes and delivering them to seniors, people in hospitals or recovering at home, people who are not in their homes, and simply people who could use a little extra cheer at Christmas time. You could help in several ways:
1) Donate items such as Christmas decorations, devotional books, stuffed comfort animals, chocolate, or other small gifts. We invite children and others to make handmade cards to put in the boxes. We also need shoe boxes (or similar boxes) to fill. Please bring these things to the Pastor’s office before December 3rd, or to our assembly session on Sunday, December 3rd at 9:20 a.m. 2) We welcome your help assembling the boxes. And, 3) you are invited to take a box after church on December 3rd to give to someone you think would appreciate the box and the visit. For more information, please contact Renee at

Pilgrim's 13th Annual Toy Drive! On Friday, December 15th Miss Stone’s 1/2 grade class and the 7/8 grade elves are scheduled to hop on a bus to deliver the toys collected at this year’s Toy Drive. Every year for the past 12 years the Pilgrim community has helped bring Christmas joy to children at Pablo Casals Elementary School in Humboldt Park. We need 185 toys to gift every PK - 2nd grader! That's a big goal but I know we can do it! The donation boxes are set up in the narthax. Keep your eyes open for the weekly toy count. Thanks Pilgrim.

Hot Meals Coats—Our guests could use warm coats, hats, and gloves. Gently used or new items for adults can be dropped off at the Pastor’s office. Also, socks, underwear, and toiletries of all kinds are so appreciated. Not only are these items appreciated, they love the fact that we care enough to collect these items.
