Join Resurrection Lutheran Church (with Interim Pastor Bill Hutchison) as we present our 12th annual Wrigleyville Summerfest with great bands, great food, even better drinks, and the best Kid’s Zone around on Saturday, Aug 2 (noon-10pm) and Sunday, August 3 (noon-9pm)! You can also follow the Fest on twitter and Facebook. Cheers!

Giving a Gift to All of our Children Thank you to those who may have contributed to the Dave Maring School Endowment Fund. This Congregation has established this fund with a vision that when fully funded, income from the Fund is going to provide scholarship aid and seed money for new programs at Pilgrim. We currently have a matching grant challenge from a member of the congregation. We need to raise $25,000 and the donor will match it.  Please help if you can. Donations are being accepted via the Pilgrim webpage.
Ministry Opportunity
Everyone is invited to participate in a lay ministry group which is forming to provide visits to home-bound or hospitalized members of our congregation. Please prayerfully consider serving in this way. Please contact Judy Daniel or Claudia George for more information.
THANK YOU to everyone who has generously supported the “Celebrate Family” Fund to support the ministry of Ethiopian Pastor Lalissa Gemechis. Thank you to the 40+ that attended the benefit dinner on June 25th and the prayer breakfast on July 5th. Thanks to the generosity of Pilgrim Members, Pilgrim School Families, local businesses, and Thrivent Financial, we have now raised over $5300 towards the goal of $6000 to help him bring his wife and two children here from Ethiopia as he completes his Doctoral Studies at Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne. We rejoice in this opportunity to fulfill the great command “to love our neighbor as ourselves.” To give online, go to:

Our Prayer for Sunday
Beloved and sovereign God, through the death and resurrection of your Son you bring us into your kingdom of justice and mercy. By your Spirit, give us your wisdom, that we may treasure the life that comes from Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Sunday’s Readings
The first reading is
Romans 8:26–39;
These words celebrate the depth of God’s actions for us. Through Christ’s death for us and the activity of the Spirit praying for us, we are fused to God’s love poured out in Jesus Christ. Nothing, not even death itself, is able to separate us from such incredible divine love.

The Gospel reading is Matthew 13:31–33, 44–52;
Throughout Matthew’s gospel, Jesus and his disciples proclaim the good news that “the kingdom of heaven is near!” Here, Jesus offers several brief parables that explore the implications of this announcement for people’s lives.
