Thank You to The Pilgrim Community from Karen Huelskoetter—
I want to extend my deepest gratitude and delight for your kindness and recognition on Sunday, June 12, before, during, and after the worship.  It is an extreme honor to work with you now in our ministry and mission of Gathering, Preparing, and Sending and during the past 26 years.  This amazing community has been my family, my support, my workplace, and my home. I thank God for each and every one of you and all of the opportunities we have had to bring His peace, justice, and love to the world. Working at Pilgrim in the classroom has been a true passion of mine; the professionalism and “master teacher goal” of the staff and leadership have always been at the forefront.  Being a part of the music ministry has been a heartfelt joy throughout the years and, of course, working to empower children to lead worship is one of the best memories.
I pray that Pilgrim Lutheran Church and School will continue to build, grow, lead, create, and inspire spirit filled leaders who will let their “light shine” throughout the community and the world!

Sincerely and gratefully, Karen Huelskoetter

Thank You—to Anita Ilika for being our guest pianist Sunday!
Special Thanks to UKANDU Chicago and to Principal Comella and Pastor Kristian, Trella Marinelli, Elena Steensma, and Hope Johnson for their inspired work to make Pilgrim's First Summer Sports Camp Possible. Color it, make it your own! Take a picture with Jesus wherever you are, with whoever you’re with, doing whatever activity, trip, or service. Upload them to Facebook or Twitter at #Pilgrim with Jesus or send them to:pastorkristian@pilgrim Prizes will be given in the fall to the 10 best pictures! And we’ll enjoy a slideshow in church in the fall!

Block Party Team Forming- As you all know, our annual block party is a wonderful annual event that helps draw the Pilgrim community together (Hot Meals/School/ Worship Community/Neighborhood) and is a wonderful way to embody our mission to gather, prepare, and send. We are looking to form a team to put on a wonderful party on Sunday, September 18th. We are in the process of setting a planning meeting... stay tuned for details! If you are at all interested in helping, please contact Renee at the church office at to be added to the Block Party Team email list.
Endowment Fund Matching Gift—Thank you, thank you, thank you to one and all for the contributions you've made recently to the Pilgrim Church Endowment Fund. As we mentioned in previous bulletins, Pilgrim member Marian Azzaro offered to match $50 for the first 20 Church Endowment contributions of $50 or more. You did it! Now, Marian is adding $1000 to her own contribution which she is making in honor of her parents. In total, in this period between Mother's Day and Father's Day, we will have increased the Church Endowment Fund by more than $8,000! That's quite a difference we've made with even small contributions. Let's keep this in mind and keep it up!
Summer is upon us and Operation CIP's gift card program has started our summer hours: Sunday after church (10:30 am) and Monday from 8:30 to 10 am in the school office. To avoid the hot weather why don't you pick up some AMC or Regal movie tickets in $10 or $25 and enjoy the cool theater! For your trips in the heat you can get some Dairy Queen, Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins or Starbucks cards to cool you off! Don't want to cook! Buy some Lou Malnati or other retaurant cards and either go to the restaurant or order for delivery and pay with the
cards!! Contactl Anne at 312-972-9040 to order and arrange for pickup.
Pilgrim Playlot Project Update—The play deck renovation for our younger children is under way! We thank all those who have contributed to help us get this far. Your generous donations total $21,000.
