Dear Friends,

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the baptism of Elouise Telford, daughter of John and Erin, enjoy wonderful worship music and an offering from our school chorus, and be inspired by Jesus' teaching on God's love and compassion.

Did you know that God sometimes pictured God as a female?

Come worship with us at 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.!
Lent at Pilgrim 2016 “40 Days of Creativity”
Because we are all made in God’s image...we are creative! (Genesis 1:26) Our Lenten Theme is “40 Days of Creativity”. Each Wednesday starting on February 10th, we gather at 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. for a community dinner for all ages, followed by an interactive prayer/creative activity that will draw us closer to God, to one another, and our community! Next week we will be doing a spiritual reflection with playdo! We also recommend a book for your Lenten Journey: “The Artisan Soul” by Erwin McManus on, either as an ebook or as a hard copy as we move through “40 Days of Creativity” throughout Lent.

Studying Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Lutheran Pastor and Martyr of the 20th Century
Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a pastor in Germany during the Second World War and the reign of the Third Reich. He was a prominent writer and theologian, and his faith led him to stand up against the Nazi regime in support of his Jewish brothers and sisters who were being persecuted. This decision led to his imprisonment and death at the hands of Nazi Germany on April 9, 1945.
An adult forum series (9:15am, Sunday mornings in the fellowship hall) beginning on February 28 will focus on who Dietrich Bonhoeffer was, and how his life and ministry can inform our relationship today as Lutherans with our brothers and sisters of Jewish faith. The following is the forum schedule: February 28(Who was Dietrich Bonhoeffer?), March 6 (What can we learn about Judaism?), March 13 (What does the ELCA say about anti-Semitism?), and April 3 (How does Bonhoeffer’s life inform our faith today?).
A devotional containing short reflections on some of Bonhoeffer’s writings about faith will be passed out to the entire congregation on February 28 so that all who do not attend the adult forum can still participate in this congregation-wide discussion.
We look forward to seeing you, and joining in this important conversation together!
