Subject: Noisy Offering

Pilgrim Announcements
November 6, 2015

Dear Friends,
Join us this Sunday, November 8th as we rejoice in the great cloud of witnesses that surround us, past and present. This Sunday is Commitment Sunday, when we invite our members to bring their commitment cards to the altar as an act of worship and gratitude.

We invite all children to arrive at Pilgrim this Sunday at 10 a.m. in order to prepare them for their very special participation throughout the 10:30 a.m. service. The children will invite us to give a "noisy offering", which involves dropping coins into metal cans in honor of the widow in Mark 12. The offering will be dedicated to Lutheran World Relief's efforts to support the refugee crisis in Syria, so please bring plenty of coins to worship!

See you at 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.!
This is Commitment Sunday!

Join us on November 8th at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. as we give thanks for God’s grace and generosity alive and well at Pilgrim! While nursery care will still be provided starting at 10:15 a.m. , Sunday School will not meet, but will instead be integrated into the entire 10:30 a.m. service. A letter with an accompanying commitment card will be available for pick up this Sunday, and will be mailed out on Monday to all those who don’t come this Sunday. We will be blessed with special music and a dramatic reading from our Pilgrim School and Sunday
School children. November 8th “Something Better” (Hebrews 11:17-40)

Pilgrim will be inviting our children to collect a “Noisy Offering” for Lutheran World Relief’s work with the global refugee crisis. Please bring your change to worship on Sunday, November 8th and the children will come around and celebrate every clang of generosity as the coins drop into the cans!

First Sunday, Feed the Hungry
Did you know that on the first Sunday of each month, our ushers take a special collection of donations in support of local and world efforts to feed the hungry? Whether you want to support the Pilgrim Saturday Hotmeals program or one of several other worthy missions, you can join in. Next Sunday in worship, we invite you to use the special envelopes provided in each pew, check off one of the designated missions listed, enclose your donation of any amount, take the envelope with you when you go for communion and simply hand the envelope to the usher.
Gift Cards are available in the school office Monday and Friday and in the church foyer on Sunday. If you don't have the time to stop into the school office you can send an order with your child and the cards will go home the next selling day (you will be sent an email regarding your order). Checks should be made out to Pilgrim Lutheran Church CIP.  Please contact Anne Barsano at or 773-472-6037 with questions. Order forms are on SIS under promotions, in the school office and on the table in the narthex.  Thank you!
