Dear Friends,

We spend too much time thinking we don't have enough. Enough time, enough money... even enough faith.

And then Jesus gently reminds us... you do have enough... my grace is sufficient, and the mustard seed within you can move mountains...

Join us this Sunday at 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. as we are uplifted by the good news and strengthened by the sacrament.

Pet Blessing, October 1st—Bring your Dog, Cat, Hamster, Reptile, Fish or other animal to the Welles Park Gazebo on October 1st at 10:00 a.m. for a special blessing. The Blessing of the Animals is traditionally celebrated the first weekend in October in conjunction with the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. We are glad to celebrate this blessing together with our friends at Luther Memorial Church.
GPS Congregational Retreat! We invite the entire community of Pilgrim to join us for our "GPS Retreat" on Sunday, October 23rd from 12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. It is wonderful to celebrate the ways Pilgrim is making a difference in the world, and to listen for how God is leading us into the future. This retreat will be important for both new and more experienced members to connect with other leaders and lean into how we can strengthen our mission together. Please save the date and time, lunch will be provided, child care will also be provided.

Opening the Treasure: New Opportunity for Parents and Kids—We as parents want our children to have a solid spiritual foundation and learn about the Bible in a meaningful and age appropriate way. We also hear the research that faith formation happens primarily at home, but we as parents don't know where to start. Pastor Kristian is offering a 5 session class called "Opening the Treasure", which will help parents and students of all ages explore the Bible together. The first session is Wednesday, October 12th at 5:30 p.m., and continue on October 19th, 26th, and November 2nd and 9th, culminating with a special celebration on the 13th. In September, in honor of the upcoming 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation, we will be exploring the questions: What is the Lutheran Reformation? Suggestions for the Endowment Committee—Do you regularly support, or have you recently discovered, a worthy organizations that might benefit from the support of our Pilgrim Community? The Pilgrim Endowment Committee typically makes disbursements from the Endowment Fund each year in early November. As we approach our early November decision date for 2016, we invite members to submit requests. If you would like to make such a request, please use the Pilgrim Endowment Request Form you'll find on the table in the narthex. Turn in your completed form to the church office, or hand it to any Pilgrim Endowment Committee member.
