Subject: Important Pilgrim Announcement

GPS Congregational Retreat
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”  And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit." John 20:21-22

At a time like this, in which we are mourning the loss of Sheridan Ostrander and many other key leaders, we may be feeling a void.   Truly, in one respect, leaders like Sheridan are irreplaceable.

But they have entrusted us with an amazing legacy... of living lives "sent" by the Holy Spirit.  Faith in Christ and serving God at Pilgrim were at the center of their lives.  Let it be so with us, and build upon their foundation as we live into our faith and our future.

Pilgrim has over 60 distinct ministries/committees.  We are a vibrant ministry serving hundreds of people a week.  It is important that we take some time to reflect upon where Jesus is calling us, and how we can grow stronger and healthier as organization.  "Direction is more important than speed."

This Sunday at our GPS Vision Retreat, we will gather after the 10:30 a.m. service at 12 noon and be together until 2:45 p.m.

We will provide lunch!   We will be inspired by some wonderful 1 minute testimonies!

And then, we will invite everyone to gather in one of five groups, each led by members of our council:

• School Board- (Principal Comella)
• Administration (Halley Williams, Jim Volkens, and Jason Ruger)
• Parish Life (Mike Suhajda and Theresa Sparlin)
• Worship (Renee Stuedemann and Cheryl Saiki)
• Youth and Education (Pastor Kristian and Lynn Boecler)

And we will reflect upon the following questions:

1. In what ways are we already and effectively fulfilling our mission to gather, prepare, and send?
2. Who will we invite into participating in the leadership square to grow and serve with us?
3. How can we plan or utilize upcoming events to maximize our focus on raising up new leaders and participants?
4. What are some goals we can accomplish over the next four months?

We don't need to wait until Thanksgiving to give thanks.

I thank God for a dedicated, innovative council and a congregation ready to walk into an exciting future together.

In Christ,
Pastor Kristian
