Subject: Cosmic Vending Machine?

View this email online if it doesn't display correctly
Dear Friends,

It has been said that sometimes we treat God as a "Cosmic Vending Machine"- meaning, we pray in such a way to tell God what we want and when we want it, versus praying for God's will to be be known, and then asking for the courage and strength to do it.

In Mark 10:35-45, the disciples treat Jesus like a cosmic vending machine. And his response is surprising.

Join us this Sunday at 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. as we contemplate the gift of prayer, and enjoy a offering of music from our upper grade chorus. God bless your weekend!
-----
Thank you for everyone who responded to the opportunity to help furnish the apartment for our newly arrived Refugee Family, they arrived safely yesterday at O'Hare. To contribute to this project, please visit the giving page listed below.
