Dear Friends,

We invite you to join us this Sunday at 9:30 a.m.!

We most often think of confession in terms of our brokenness. When we receive the grace to name our pain, healing can begin.

And... we also use the word "confession" in terms of our beliefs. We can make "confessions" in a more proactive way... in what ways are we living into our future?

From both of these confessions, we are renewed in the depths of our being, and our lives become joyful and meaningful.

Join us this Sunday as we explore both sides of confession, and celebrate our partnership with the Lutheran Church of South Africa. See you at 9:30 a.m.!
Fall Worship Schedule begins on Sunday, September 10th. We will return to having two services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. We look forward to having you join us!

Looking for inspirational stories of Pilgrim's impact in and around the Community! Amy Truelsen, the editor of our newsletter Pilgrim's Progress, is looking for story ideas to showcase the impact of our community programming. If you have an idea or a story to share with her, please email: and it will be considered for inclusion in the next newsletter! The deadline is August 31.

It's Block Party Season! Each fall, Pilgrim throws a unifying party for our church, school, school alumni, hot meals guests, and neighbors. Each year we do some things the same, but we also innovate a little bit each year, depending on the ideas and gifts of those involved. It is an opportunity to highlight the amazing community we have at Pilgrim, and is a wonderful embodiment of our mission to gather, prepare, and send!  This year we will be celebrating on Sunday, September 17th. Please contact Sarah Lau if you are interested in helping AND sign up to volunteer for all sorts of good things at We hope you'll join us!

Pilgrim School Update - All the summer programs at Pilgrim are done and I have heard some great positive comments about all of them. Congratulations to Arlene Calderone and Madlin Sada for their great work with Summer Enrichment Camp June 27- July 14! Chris Wallis and Deaconess Claire from Luther Memorial filled the building with VBS July 17-21! And Parent Megan Wade coordinated Chess Camp at Pilgrim, which brought in almost 50 students from Pilgrim and neighboring school each day for a week to play chess July 24-28th!

We are replacing the carpeting and repainting our stairwells in partnership with Jesus People USA!
And we are thrilled to share that our current expected enrollment now stands at 167 students, a 20 student increase over last year! We praise God!
