Please contact our Church Office Administrator, Renee Stuedemann, at for more information. Thank you!

Welcome Seminarian Karl! Pilgrim is blessed to have received a student in the Mission in Context program for the 2018-19 school year. Students in the "MIC" program spend 7 hours learning and serving a week in a local congregation. Here is a note from our student Karl: “Hello! I am Karl Anliker, a second year Master of Divinity student at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. I grew up in Indiana and attended Valparaiso University before doing Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I currently live in Hyde Park with my wife Charlotte who teaches Kindergarten. We love living in Chicago, exploring the Field Museum, and walking in our neighborhood. I am excited to learn and grow alongside God's faithful servants at Pilgrim this year.”

Exploring the Bible - Join us on Sundays, continuing on September 23rd, at 9:15 a.m. for "Explore the Bible" Class that is open to people of all backgrounds and levels of familiarity. We will meet in Maring Hall.

Taking Faith Home

The Walk date is Sunday, October 14; registration starts at 1:00 pm with step-off at 2:00 p.m. from the historic Second Presbyterian Church at 1936 S. Michigan Avenue. The goal this year is to raise over $50,000; this will bring the total funds raised by the Chicago CROP Walk to $1.7 million dollars. 25% of the funds we raise will used here to benefit the following local programs: A Just Harvest, Lakeview Pantry, The Episcopal Hunger Committee, South Loop Campus Ministry and Second Presbyterian. 2018 Mortgage Campaign - We are using the account formally known as the Growing Forward Capital Campaign to continue to pay our monthly mortgage bill of $2,048. The 2018 Mortgage Campaign Giving is falling short of what is needed to pay the monthly bill. Thank you to everyone who is giving one time or monthly automatic contributions to the current 2018 Mortgage Campaign. We invite those who have not had a chance to give to this campaign to make a donation via check, with the memo saying "2018 Mortgage Campaign," or go to the giving page at and set up a monthly automatic payment. Thank you!

Windows Into Our Future - There are 30 classroom windows which face west along the alley. They are old, they are not energy/cost efficient, and they provide no sound proofing. We have set a goal to raise $85,000 in the next 10 months, and our appeal is to both school families and church members. We have raised $34,000 so far. We encourage both one-time donations and on-going monthly donations to this campaign over the coming 12 months. To give, visit and if you have any questions, please contact the school office at
