Christmas Decorating
Christmas miracles are great, but unfortunately have never yet included those giant Christmas trees floating themselves down from the storage loft, nor sorting out their own wiring. Please join us Saturday, December 5 at 9:30 a.m. to decorate the sanctuary. This is a great family activity, since kids can help with the wreaths, ornaments and garlands. Weather permitting we will also be hanging lights outside. Refreshments will be served (no fruitcake, unless somebody really really wants it--but you'll need to let us know!) To volunteer (or request said fruitcake) contact Chris Wallis at
This Sunday! Pilgrim Dads’ 5th Annual Pancake Breakfast.  The pilgrim Dads are looking forward to hosting the best pancake breakfast that has ever been served out of Maring Hall on December 6! Suggested donation per person is $5. Servings at 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM.  We need your help to make this happen. Click Here and sign up! We need volunteers from 7am until 3pm. We also need griddles, if you have one that you can bring or let us borrow. All proceeds will help support the school’s technology fund. Please contact Glenn Williams at or Pete Gillespie at for details.
Needed: Shoeboxes, Gently Used Stuffed Animals, Christmas Ornaments
Pilgrim’s Care Ministry team is assembling holiday care boxes for those that could use some good cheer this Christmas. We are in need of shoeboxes or baskets, as well as any extra used stuffed animals or used Christmas ornaments. Please drop any items off in the church office or bring them to the Pancake breakfast on Sunday preferably before the 10:30 a.m.service.
We also invite you to be part of the Care Box assembly line, happening on Sunday a.m., staring at 9:15 a.m. in the annex. Thank you!

Dear Pilgrim Members,

We need your help!

The 11th Annual Pilgrim Toy Drive is well under way! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. We still have a long way to go. Are you shopping this weekend, ordering online? Please consider Pilgrim's annual toy drive. As of December 2nd, our count was 43 gifts. Remember, at minimum, we want to provide toys to the 63 first graders we will visit at our partner school on December 15th! Our goal is to bring joy and gifts to all the preschoolers, kindergartners and 2nd graders too, for a total of 186 gifts! I know we can do it but we need a big push in the next week! This trip is a very special event and it means so much for all the children and families involved.
Remember, we need all the toys by December 11th!

Dear Pilgrim Community:
Last year, on Martin Luther King Jr's birthday, I organized a mitten making day for the poor. We then distributed them among people living under Lake Shore Drive. It was very well received and appreciated. This year, I was hoping to include the Pilgrim Church and School community as we make more mittens to warm those who are living without shelter.
You can help in the following ways:
1) Drop off packages of handwarmers (can be purchased in bulk at Costco),
2) Mitten Assembly—On January 10th after the 10:30 service, we will be assembling the mittens. On that day, we will need volunteers and some sewing machines that we could borrow for a couple hours. Please email me your interest for sewing or if you have a sewing machine you would like to loan for the day. Thank you in advance- school parent Jennifer Goolsby at

We Need Your Ideas for Mission Gift Recipients!

As you know, Pilgrim tithes, giving 10% of contributions to the Growing Forward Capital Campaign to Mission Gifts. The Mission Gift Committee is charged with recommending recipients to the Church Council but depends on the congregation for input. Please continue to think of organizations and projects that would be worthy recipients of future Mission Gift funds, and submit applications on their behalf. Applications are accepted at any time but January 6th is the deadline for applications to be considered at the next meeting. Application forms can be found on the table in the church narthex and completed applications can be brought in or sent electronically to the church office. Contact members of the Mission Gift Committee (Anna-Kari Johnson, Jose Cardo, Tarah Dickerson, and Claudia George) with any questions.

First Sunday, Feed the Hungry

Whether you want to support the Pilgrim Saturday Hotmeals program or one of several other worthy missions, you can join in. Next Sunday in worship, we invite you to use the special envelopes provided in each pew, check off one of the designated missions listed, enclose your donation of any amount, take the envelope with you when you go for communion and simply hand the envelope to the usher.
