Subject: A National Holiday?

View this email online if it doesn't display correctly
Super Bowl Sunday has been called a national holiday because of how many people prioritize watching the game... or at least the commercials. The term "holiday" comes from the word "holy", meaning "set apart".

Since the first century, Christians have established every Sunday as holy day. A time to gather together, and let God hit the reset button for a new week. This Sunday, we will be meditating on the following passage:

"He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:29-31

This promise like a good reason gather and celebrate! See you at 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.!
Sunday is Souper Bowl Sunday! We will be collecting offerings for anti-hunger efforts in Soup Pots as part of a nation-wide movement to combat hunger. Please consider participating by placing an offering in the soup pot located behind the communion stations or at the rear of the sanctuary at the close of the service!

Lent: A Time for Peace—We invite you to be intentional in the upcoming season of Lent. Our theme is “Lent: A Time for Peace”. Paper devotionals will be available for picking up next week, and we also recommend an ebook titled: Lent with St. Francis by Diane Houdek. You can order the book by clicking here:
