Subject: PGTCA Members 2020 Dues

Hello PGTCA Members

Happy New Year to all the PGTCA Members and Family. It's so cool to have you with us! Everybody here at PGTCA would like to wish everyone a Blessed 2020.

Congratulations on another year of helping people enjoy and play this wonderful game of golf better.

This year has been such a blessing, both to the PGTCA and me personally. The PGTCA moved to one of the best teaching facilities in America, just over a year ago, Diamondhead CC location in Diamondhead, MS. 10 minutes from where one of my all-time favorite football players, Brett Favre, grew up.

We are so proud to be associated with Mississippi's best PGA Golf Instructor, Hoppy Smith’s Golf Academy and training facility. I truly feel blessed to have reconnected with Hoppy after 33 years.

We thank Hoppy Smith & Diamondhead CC for there support given both to the PGTCA and Elite Golf Group.

As for me personally, my MS has progressed to PSMS. Please don't feel sorry for me as I have been so blessed, I stay busy with work, web sites, and administration. Along with family and friends. I'm so blessed to be able to do what I do. I thank God every morning for my blessings.

I miss not be able to play golf anymore, but the vision is still there. The MS Golf Project is getting closer and closer to where we want it.

I still have great hope for the future and the MS Golf Project which will help 100's suffering from this illness. The web site is https://multiplesclerosisgolfproject.com. Volunteers are always needed to run fundraising tournaments or other events. Ideals can be found on the web site. I know now, this project is my destiny in life and I feel honored to lead the fight. Please show your support by volunteering for an event or giving a $10.00 donation to the cause.

I feel excited about 2020 and the future of both the PGTCA and MS Golf Project. Below is a list of the project we currently completed as 2019 comes to an end.

Golf Swing Tips for Senior Golfers

Only few sports in the world allow people to enjoy throughout their entire life, and golf is one of them. But when a golfer is getting older, they should develop some new goals, for example, shooting there age. Although golf doesn’t produce too much wear and tear on your body when compared with other sports, it is very important to maintain in a relatively good physical condition. If you can apply a daily walk or a good stretching program, you should be able to keep in health and continue to play golf until your 70s, 80s or even 90s.

1. Stretch your body before games.
Apply some stretching could effectively prevent injury that might set you back from months to years. If you live in a cool climate during winter times, it really is a good idea to do some stretching to maintain yourself in shape. A good fitness or stretching program also contribute to increased distance for your golf shots.

2. Maintain a smooth tempo and good balance.
If you maintain a smooth tempo, you will have a good balance during your swing. Better balance in swing results in better golf shots. Both good tempo and good balance contribute to a solid finish, where a golfer is flat on the left foot as well as on the right toe. Your body should turn towards your target with the belt buckle pointing to the target on the follow-through.

3. Work on proper swing fundamentals continuously.
It is very natural to lose distance and flexibility for senior golfers, however, if he can maintain or even improve his swing fundamentals, he might have the chance to not see a dramatic loss in distance. So, please continue your ball striking practices.

4. Get suitable equipment for senior players.
You should make sure that your equipment is suitable for senior golf players. Compared with steel shafts, graphite shafts are much lighter and it allows for faster swing speed, which leads to longer distance. Additionally, opt for oversize grips, which can produce a softer feel or your hands. The softer feel is beneficial for those who suffer from arthritis in hands.

5. Play a short game.
Play a short game, but a good one. The short but good game becomes important when you starts to lose your distance with full swings.

"2015 Training Aid of the Year"

The original putting stick featured a rectangular mirror mounted to a base that attached to the end of the Putting Stick. The new Pro model has the eye alignment mirror embedded directly into the surface of the Putting Stick. The end of the stick has also been tapered to allow the ball to roll more gently off the end of the stick. Both units feature the cast acrylic material that won't torque and both models are very effective at training golfers to get the ball rolling straight and true.
Does the Putting Stick Work?

The key to the Putting Stick System is the precise visual feedback it provides. Lack of feedback is why many golfers never improve in spite of practice. To improve, you need to know what is going on with your stroke. Using the Putting Stick allows you to continuously monitor your eye alignment, back-swing length, and stroke accuracy in a simple, efficient manner.

Features
Made from the finest quality materials to exacting standards, this ingenious tool will transform both your game and attitude, forever. Included with the Putting Stick® Pro is an instructional USB thumbdrive containing detailed information on assembly, use, fault correction, as well as introductions to basic putting techniques and strategies.

Reviewer: Bob B. from Green Valley, AZ

At first try, putts had to be hit much too firm to keep them on line.

Little by little I could strike them less firm, and keep a small percentage of them on a straight path.

After a lot of trial & error, I made some modifications to my stroke, and my putting started to improve.

As opposed to most training aids that guide your stroke on a fixed path, therefore relying solely on memory to repeat it on the golf course.

The Putting Stick does not!

This review was written by Bob Barrette, Lead Test Administrator, GolfTest USA

It immediately exposes imperfections in your stroke, and forces you to try different techniques, in order to keep the ball on a straight line, all the way to the end of the stick.

It is multi-dimensional, not only does it teach you to putt precisely, it confirms correct posture and alignment, utilizing a mirror to reveal whether your eyes are directly over the ball. Which is imperative to putting accuracy.

A list of do's & don'ts, included with this product would be of great benefit, to anyone having difficulty keeping putts on the stick.

Met you at the PGA Show - I am a clinical and sports psychologist that works with PGA and LPGA golfers, as well as numerous collegiate and juniors across the country. I bought a putting stick to try it out and the results have been tremendous. I want to speak with you about setting up a program for my players to purchase them as I will make sure that all players have one!

The Putting Stick December 9, 2013
Reviewer: Michael Moynihan from US Golf School at the International Golf Club

I have found that students really love the training aid used in the short game sessions of the three-day and five-day schools. Most of them tend to take too long backswings, which can create path problems and cause them to not accelerate the putter. The backstop on the back of the Putting Stick serves as a reminder to shorten the backswing. I then urge them to make a longer follow through. Using the Putting Stick with this type of stroke also helps them keep their putter blades squarer at impact. Otherwise, the ball will roll off, going to the right if the face is open or to the left if closed. Its important for students to have their eyes directly over the target line. This helps them to aim correctly. I prefer the original model, with the mirror attached, while others like the pro model with the mirror embedded into the other end where there is an indention to place the ball. I use it myself. You can't find a better putting aid.

The Putting Stick December 9, 2013
Reviewer: Joey Wuertenberger from Jim McLean Golf Center in Fort Worth, TX

The Putting Stick is a valuable training aid to not only my teaching but to all of my students. The Putting Stick provides excellent feedback to my students in many different important areas, but most important it provides instant feedback on how the putter face is aligned relative to the putter path around impact. For a natural stroke, the path can be more or less arched, but returning the putter face back to square at impact provides instant feedback to my players.

Joey Wuertenberger is recognized as one of the top teachers in Texas by Golf Digest

"The Putting Stick® is an excellent training tool for working on and grooving a fundamentally sound putting stroke. It is very simple to use and it fits right in your bag. Anyone wanting to make more putts should use The Putting Stick®. It is a great product."
