Subject: Workout Wednesday: No More Love Handles

Hello Friend,

It's Coach Eddie, studio manager here at our Premier Boxing for Fitness, South Houston location.  Today's message is going to be about love handles.

The love handles are the dreadful fat deposits located on the side of your waistline. No one likes them, but most everyone has them.

They are stubborn to lose, but if you apply these 4 exercises which will specifically target your obliques along with adding better eating habits and a proper exercise program, you have a chance!

Perform the following 4 exercises 3-4 times a week.

Side Crunches

It is an effective oblique exercise that works both sides of your oblique muscles. Start the crunches by lying on one side, say right side. Now put your right hand on the left side of your waist. Take your left hand behind your head such that the elbow is facing upward. Raise your left leg about 12 inches and lift your upper body as if you are crunching the torso. Stay in that position for about 8-10 seconds. Repeat the same process at least 12 times before turning to the left side.

Oblique Crunches

Oblique crunches directly target your obliques and abs. Lie flat on the floor to start the exercise. Place your hands behind your head to support the neck. Now slowly raise your body halfway and twist the right part of the body to the left leg. At the same time lift your left leg and bend it towards the right shoulder. Hold on for 6-10 seconds and try to contract your obliques and abs as hard as you can. Slowly lower your body to the starting position. Repeat it 12-16 times before shifting to the alternative side.

Standing Trunk Twists

It's more like an aerobic exercise that pumps up your heart rate and burns the bulging fat around your belly. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Keep your knees and upper body relaxed.

Now, fixing the legs and hips in the same position, twist your waist to the right and move the left arm in a punching motion. Return to the starting point and repeat on the other side by twisting your torso to the left side with right hand in a punching motion. Repeat this exercise at least 20 times on each side.

It works well for both, men and women. However, the time it takes to reduce love handles may vary for each gender.

Leg Flutters

Toning your middle with this exercise may not be very easy, but it yields fantastic results. Remember that you need to reduce fat on the back and strengthen your back to blast those love handles.

To perform this exercise, lie flat on your stomach and keep your arms straight out in line with your legs. Now slowly raise your legs off the floor to flutter them rapidly back and forth for about twenty seconds. Do at least 15-20 reps every day.

NOTE: These exercises work best only when accompanied by total body workouts that burn calories, like strength training and aerobic exercises. Working only to tone obliques without reducing the overall body fat is a complete waste of time. And you can't ignore a healthy diet. Develop good eating habits to lose love handles forever.
