For many investors is Thailand only aimed at the holiday makers and commercial tourist attracting the commercial businesses. According to the secretary-general of the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council speaking in 2019, the tourism sector account 20% of Thailand's GDP. That means that 80% of Thailand’s mean income sources are non-touristic. That gives investors the option to invest in this sector of Thailand. The difference is that when a guesthouse or hotel is directed to foreign clients, it will be high in occupancy in high season but low in low season.
But the local Thai market does not have any low season, it is like high season 365 days per year. OK… the revenue from local Thais is lower but on the other hand it is constantly with no low income periods. The year-end profits could be the same for holiday tourist and local Thais permanently. The choice is yours…
