CELEBRATE ARTS EDUCATION WEEK
● ENDORSE ARTS EDUCATION BILL
● ATTEND WEBINAR
Grantmakers in the Arts and Americans for the Arts invites you to join us in expressing support for the Arts Education for All Act, which is being introduced by Representative Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR). If you are authorized by your organization to do so, you can formally support this legislation by clicking here and entering your information. If your organization or agency is not able to endorse this bill, please endorse this bill in your capacity as a private citizen.

The Arts Education for All Act, the broadest arts education policy bill ever introduced in Congress, includes key provisions that will support and encourage the offering of arts education and programming experiences to Americans including our youngest learners, K-12 students, and youth impacted by the juvenile justice system. Crucially, the bill will also include provisions that would allow for rigorous arts and arts education research to be carried out, to further inform how elementary and secondary education in our country is improved.
National Arts in Education Week is September 10 through 16.

During this week, Americans for the Arts will be recognizing the value of the arts in education through a webinar on Thursday, September 14 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET. This is another year-round arts advocacy training opportunity to learn about arts education policies at the federal, state, and local levels.
While arts education advocacy is critical year-round, National Arts in Education Week provides a dedicated time to raise awareness and bring these issues to the forefront. Our panelists will cover a wide range of topics and we hope you will join us for this important conversation as we recognize the importance of arts in education!

Participants will include:
United States House Representative Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR)
Dr. Annamarie Bollino, Coordinator of Visual and Performing Arts for Stafford County Public Schools
Dr. Lenora Helm Hammonds, Associate Professor and Chair of Music, North Carolina Central University
Jim Palmarini of the Arts ARE Education Campaign
