Subject: Why one Navy SEAL wasn't happy to settle for less

Hi Friend,

Do you settle for less? To explain what I mean, here's a joke for you:

A Jewish grandmother and her son are at the beach. The boy is playing in the water while she's standing on the sand not wanting to get her feet wet, when a huge wave suddenly appears from nowhere and sweeps the boy away.

As the water recedes, the grandmother holds her hands to the sky and cries: "Lord, how could you? Haven't I been a wonderful grandmother? Haven't I been a wonderful mother? Haven't I kept a kosher home? Haven't I given to the B'nai B'rith? Haven't I lit candles every Friday night? Haven't I tried my very best to live a life that you would be proud of-?"

At which point, a voice booms from the sky: "All right already!"

Moments later, another huge wave appears from nowhere and crashes on the shore. As the water recedes, the boy is standing there. He is smiling and playing in the water like nothing has happened.

The voice booms from the sky again: "I have returned your grandson. Are you happy now?"

The grandmother says, "He had a hat."

Striving for More

Now there's a lady who won't settle for less! And while it's an amusing tale, there is an important lesson that we can learn here. To illustrate what I mean, I want to tell you a story.

New York Times bestseller and sought after coach Mark Divine used to settle for less, but not anymore. Unhappy in his high-paying corporate job, he walked away to pursue his vision of becoming an elite Navy SEAL. And Mark would realise his dream, serving out nine years active duty before retiring as Commander in 2011.

Yet our story doesn't end there. Far from it. Passionate about his time spent in the forces, Mark went onto create SEALFIT.

Striving for more, Mark now gets to train folks from all walks of life, helping to develop elite physical fitness and mental toughness. And there is something else you should know about Mark. Aged 51, he is in better physical shape than when he was a battle-hardened Navy SEAL in his twenties!

So wherever you stand today with your training, just remember - you don't have to settle. There is always room for improvement, fresh challenges to tackle, and new goals to achieve...

And the best part? Not settling for less and striving for more begins with your very next workout!

Until next time,

Squat for Glory!
