Subject: Building Muscle goes Back to the Future

Hi Friend,

If you’re a movie fan, you’ll know 80s film “Back to the Future II” recently hit the headlines. The reason? Well, the sequel rocketed characters Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown to the then-futuristic year of 2015.

But how accurate was the 80s vision of today?

Let’s quickly review where the Robert Zemeckis film scored a hit and got things right:
  • Smartwatches. When the DeLorean duo journey to 2015, they encounter people getting the weather reports delivered to their wrists. Thanks to gizmos like the Apple Watch, the tech-savvy can follow the weather and track their weight training too.
  • Video. Before mobile phones in 1989, video calls from your smartphones, tablets and TVs was the stuff of science fiction. Today such wizardry is science fact. With just a click of your mouse, you can watch the latest muscle building video on YouTube or Skype your fitness buddy.
Sadly, the adventure movie got some things wrong — we still don’t have hover boards or flying cars yet! That aside, it’s uncanny how technology has kept pace with Hollywood’s dream factory and brought us a world where our wildest imaginings are within easy reach.

In seconds, you can download your favourite strength coach’s book to your mobile, eReader or computer. In the blink of an eye, you can read the latest fitness blog or listen to a podcast.

It’s enough to make Doc Emmett Brown yell, “Great Scott!”

Until next time,

Squat for Glory!

Lee
