5 Tips for Choosing the Right Hardware for Your Kitchen Remodel

Every day you grab them, nudge them and pull them to get at your kitchen tools, ingredients, glasses, plates, and silverware. It's your hardware—the knobs, pulls and handles that should make your life in the kitchen quick and easy. Homeowners are often surprised by the overwhelming number of choices in kitchen hardware, which sometimes causes haphazard design choices. Although there's no one right answer, you can avoid functionality and design challenges if you get some help and choose wisely. Our remodeling design experts can help you select hardware that works best in your kitchen. To start, consider these 5 tips when choosing kitchen hardware for your home.
A Lafayette Addition Solves the Needs of a Growing Family

This family came to Gayler Design Build to create a room addition, with a request for a unified, functional space that was both modern and classic and easy to maintain. With four kids in tow, there was a need for a new bedroom, bathroom and a homework station, which could double as a place for the kids to create art.

There was limited room to build the addition, up against the setback and close to the hillside, so the foundation for the addition also acted as a retaining wall. The roof had to be designed as a gable in order to tie into the existing second story and allow an eight-foot-high ceiling in the new addition. The location of the addition also required re-routing gas and water lines.  See the beautiful results of this bedroom, bathroom and homework station addition.
Common Descriptions and Uses for Natural Stone

To help you navigate the process, we've outlined some of the most popular natural stone materials and their uses. From marble to quartz and understanding the difference between quartz and quartzite, discover what material is right for your kitchen or bathroom remodeling project.
