Second Quarter 2021
From the Executive Director's Corner
As many of you wrap up the end of the school year and prepare for the summer ahead, we want to thank you all for your commitment to financial education. At the AFSA Education Foundation, we work each summer to update the MoneySKILL content, make important adjustments to the course platform, and – most importantly – gather feedback from MoneySKILL instructors. Your input helps guide the continued development and growth of the MoneySKILL program, and we encourage you all to take a few minutes to complete our annual MoneySKILL Instructor Satisfaction Survey here.

Looking ahead to the new school year, we hope you continue to utilize the MoneySKILL curriculum in your teaching. Our latest MoneySKILL impact evaluation (infographic here) shows significant improvements in financial knowledge and behaviors for students completing the course, with more than 90% of MoneySKILL students seeing improvements in financial knowledge and an average knowledge gain of 60% when comparing pre- and post-test exams. We know that financial education works and MoneySKILL is an effective tool in providing such critical financial knowledge.

We look forward to your continued engagement, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly with any feedback or questions you might have at info@moneyskill.org.

Have a great summer!

Ask MoneySKILL!
How do the pre- and post-test MoneySKILL exams work?

When setting up a MoneySKILL class, instructors have the option to include the automatic administration of pre- and post-test exams for students. If these are enabled, the pre- and post-test exams are generated with a set of questions based on the content in the modules that are active at the time the class is created. This is to ensure consistency in measuring financial knowledge changes. Please keep this in mind if you think you may need to add or remove course modules at a later date. If you ever have questions about the pre- and post-test exam content for a particular class, you can reach out to MoneySKILL tech support by clicking on the “Contact Support” link in your account or emailing info@moneyskill.org.
Do MoneySKILL instructors need to guide students through the entire course?

While some students may require additional support, MoneySKILL was designed for most to be able to complete the course in a self-directed manner on their device.
Where do students go to log in to MoneySKILL once their user account has been created?

Students can log in to MoneySKILL by clicking on the “Login” button on our main homepage at www.afsaef.org or www.moneyskill.org.
