First Quarter 2021
From the Executive Director's Corner
As a registered MoneySKILL educator, you understand the impact this financial literacy curriculum can have on students’ lives.

Brooke Kusch at Autry Technology Center in Enid, Oklahoma, said it best: “MoneySKILL is a perfect tool for educators teaching financial literacy, especially right now in a virtual world.”

Will you tell your colleagues about MoneySKILL and help us reach more students?

April is Financial Literacy Month. You can participate by sharing this registration link with educators in your network so they can register for our free MoneySKILL program. It’s teacher-approved, and a new study finds that 90% of students increased their financial knowledge after participating in MoneySKILL.

The curriculum is offered in English and Spanish and can be customized as a standalone course or supplemental lesson plan. MoneySKILL instructors also gain access to hundreds of free, digital personal finance resources that complement the curriculum.

You can follow us on social media and share our content on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #MoneySKILLMatters! We appreciate your continued support.

Sincerely,

Rhonda Ashburn
Executive Director
American Financial Services Association Education Foundation

P.S. If you have a MoneySKILL success story, please share it with us at info@moneyskill.org by April 30.

Ask MoneySKILL!
Why can’t my students access the MoneySKILL course content after logging in?

If your students are having trouble accessing the MoneySKILL course after logging in, make sure to check that the course availability dates are correct by clicking on the class “Details”. You can also reach out to MoneySKILL tech support by clicking on the “Contact Support” link in your account or emailing info@moneyskill.org.
How can I give another teacher administrative access to my MoneySKILL courses?

Using the “Admin” link in your MoneySKILL account, you can grant another instructor administrative access to your MoneySKILL courses. Please note, however, that the other instructor must already have an existing MoneySKILL account (new instructors can register here).
Does MoneySKILL or the AFSA Education Foundation contact students directly regarding their course activity?

No. Neither the MoneySKILL program nor the AFSA Education Foundation collects any student contact information. Students may monitor their progress using their MoneySKILL account credentials or by working directly with their instructor.
New Announcements
MoneySKILL Impact Evaluation Results Released!  The AFSA Education Foundation recently partnered with Dr. Carly Urban, Associate Professor of Economics at Montana State University, to assess the impact of the MoneySKILL curriculum. The evaluation measured changes in financial behaviors and knowledge, specifically among middle school, high school, and college MoneySKILL users between 2014 and 2020. The results are very encouraging, with more than 90% of MoneySKILL students seeing improvements in financial knowledge and an average knowledge gain of 60% when comparing students' pre- and post-test exams. To learn more about the results, check out our latest infographic here.

New Professional Audio Recordings:  All of the English MoneySKILL audio transcriptions have been professionally re-recorded. For students interested in having the course content read aloud to them, they can click the “Enable Audio” link at any time.
MoneySKILL Feedback:  Do you have any feedback to share with us about the MoneySKILL program? In addition to our annual teacher satisfaction survey that we send out every summer, we encourage you to send us any feedback directly at info@moneyskill.org. Your input helps us plan better for the future of MoneySKILL!
