From the Executive Director's Corner
As we step into a new year, we are delighted to bring you exciting updates on MoneySKILL and the year ahead. We are eager to continue to grow the reach and impact of MoneySKILL and are thankful to have a wonderful network of educators committed to promoting financial education.

In the spirit of continuous learning, we are pleased to announce a special event in collaboration with the National Math Foundation (NMF). On Thursday, February 15 at 7:00 pm ET, both of our organizations will be hosting a webinar to provide practical insights for K-12 educators seeking to strengthen the connection between math and personal finance.

Together, we will explore the math foundations underpinning core personal finance topics, and will address:
  • Current challenges students face in math comprehension,
  • Ways in which educators can boost their students’ math skills through movement,
  • How financial education can strengthen students’ math skills through practical application, and
  • Free personal finance resources for educators.
In addition to representatives from NMF and the AFSA Education Foundation, this webinar will also feature a panel discussion with Laura Levine, President and CEO of the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy and Dr. Barbara O’Neill, CFP®, AFC®, owner and CEO of Money Talk: Financial Planning Seminars and Publications. Register HERE today and don’t miss this valuable opportunity!

Ask MoneySKILL!
What kind of technical support is available for teachers using MoneySKILL?

The AFSA Education Foundation has a support team available to answer any questions you might have or help troubleshoot technical issues. MoneySKILL instructors can click on the “Contact Support” link on their dashboard or reach out to info@moneyskill.org and someone will follow up with you right away. Additionally, AFSA Education Foundation staff are available to provide individual or small group virtual training sessions on how best to implement MoneySKILL in your classroom or learning environment.
Does MoneySKILL include any student assessment tools to measure their progress?

Yes. In addition to the quiz questions interspersed throughout each MoneySKILL module, instructors have the option to enable a pre-test benchmark exam and a post-test exam to track student’s knowledge changes as a result of completing the course.
Is there a way for me to track my students’ engagement with specific MoneySKILL modules?

Yes. There is a gradebook feature available to all MoneySKILL instructors that provides them with each student’s quiz and test grades as well as the total time they spent completing each module.
Announcements
Updated Reality Check:  We recently updated our Reality Check tool! MoneySKILL classes include a Reality Check simulation for students that provides them with an opportunity to map out a realistic financial future. Instructors can check it out in the “Preview Curriculum” section of their MoneySKILL dashboard.
New MoneySKILL Feature:  Based on your feedback, we recently enhanced the MoneySKILL class settings to allow instructors to set both hourly and daily retake delays! This change will not impact any existing classes but will provide you more flexibility when setting up new classes.
MoneySKILL Testimonials:  We are looking for teachers and/or students who are interested in talking to us about their experience with MoneySKILL. If you are willing to share your experience, we encourage you to reach out to us directly at info@moneyskill.org. Your testimonials help us spread the word to others about the value of MoneySKILL!
