Third Quarter 2021
From the Executive Director's Corner
With the new school year well underway, we want to welcome all of the new MoneySKILL instructors who have signed up over the past couple of months. In additional to schoolteachers, we have seen many homeschool educators, parents, nonprofit organizations, and businesses taking advantage of the MoneySKILL curriculum to provide personal finance education.

As you deliver your MoneySKILL courses this fall, I wanted to take this time to share some additional free resources that the AFSA Education Foundation has made available to help supplement your personal finance teaching. We understand how important it is for educators to have accessible, high-quality teaching material and encourage you to check out the following resources that complement the MoneySKILL curriculum well:
  • MoneySKILL - Learning Activities Per Module Resource Guide: This resource contains nearly 400 free, vetted, digital financial education activities, games, calculators, case studies, articles, and more, which are designed to supplement the delivery of MoneySKILL classes. This guide can be downloaded in the “Resources” section of your MoneySKILL instructor account.
  • MoneySKILL - Supplemental Video Links: This resource contains links to videos addressing personal finance topics that correspond to each MoneySKILL module. The list of links and video descriptions can be downloaded in the “Resources” section of your MoneySKILL instructor account.
  • Personal Finance Brochures, Worksheets, and Class Activities: Educators and students can access a range of free personal finance brochures (covering topics like Vehicle Financing and Understanding APR), worksheets, class activities, and more on our main website’s resource page (here).
In addition to these teaching resources, please know that we are always open to scheduling virtual MoneySKILL demonstrations. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a demo, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@moneyskill.org. As always, we appreciate the work you do to provide financial education to your students, children, community members, and beyond.

Best wishes,

Rhonda Ashburn

Ask MoneySKILL!
Is there a way to add multiple student users to my MoneySKILL class at once?

Yes! In the “Students” section of your MoneySKILL class, there is an “Import Students” link that allows instructors to upload an entire roster of student users using an Excel template. You can find more information on this process by reading through the MoneySKILL Instructor Handbook posted in the “Resources” section of your MoneySKILL account or by reaching out to info@moneyskill.org.
Why are my students suddenly unable to access the MoneySKILL modules in my class?

The most common reason this occurs is because the MoneySKILL class (or module) has expired. Make sure you keep track of the MoneySKILL class availability and module availability dates that you set up when creating your class. If you need to extend these dates, they can be changed at any time in the class settings.
Can I allow a student to retake a specific module in my MoneySKILL class?

MoneySKILL instructors can manually allow one or more students to retake modules by clicking on the “Retakes” link next to their name in the “Students” section of the class. Note, once instructors allow students to retake a module, the student must complete the module again in order to finish the course.
