Level 1. The Foundation
Containers: families and long term problems.
The Burdens: responsibilities and guilts.
The Bubbles: beliefs and values.

Level 2. The Metaphoric Hierarchy
The Elevations: status games.
Relational Positions: where we stand.
The Fulfillments: emotional transactions.
The Hurts: emotional injury and health.

Dream work and dream analysis.
Metaphors of Time.
Metaphors of Business and Money.
In Metaphors of Movement you will learn not only how to uncover your own metaphors, but how to engage them at a physiological and neurological level —a new and very different approach to overcoming stuck states and creating effective movement towards our personal goals.

In change-work and therapy, outcomes and goal setting is largely just fantasy. The key to personal change is to face the reality of where you are right now.

In MoM we listen to what the client is telling us in their own words and unearth their personal metaphors. MoM is a precision tool to home in on the client’s exact stuck point and how they are maintaining their problem state.

Clients quickly awaken to their own beliefs, metaphors and stuck points, which triggers a series of rapid, self induced results.

We ask the question: What is it like?
I'm in the pit of despair..
A chronically depressed man presents himself for therapy. This man tells the therapist that he is really depressed and it is like.... being in “the pit of despair.”

What can we tell about his experience?
I feel like I'm drowning..
Her husband's indiscretion has just come to light. "I feel like I'm drowning" she sobs...."I'm trying to keep my family afloat" and she gestures with both hands as though she is juggling. She explains that metaphorically she has a child in each hand and is trying to keep them above the waves.

I'm up to my neck in shit
Standing at the office door she declared, "I don't want to talk about it!" Not the best words for a therapist to hear but none-the-less I told her, "That is fine, don't tell me anything about it. Just tell me what it is like."
Gesturing to her throat, she said, "It's like I'm up to here in the shit!"
"What kind of shit?" I asked her.
"All the shit that other people throw at me." She said.
