There are more choices than ever for nurses to have long careers that offer more flexibility, financial control and fulfillment. More nurses are recognizing their valuable knowledge and experiences which are well-suited to leverage them into a multitude of nursing businesses. From developing additional income streams on a part-time basis, to becoming full-time entrepreneurs, the NNBA is filled with nurses doing just that!

Our first article of interest below is 5 Daily Habits of 6-Figure Entrepreneurs. The 6 and 7- figure nurse entrepreneurs I know adhere to these habits, especially #1: Self-care. They set aside time to make themselves a priority and #2, they start each business day with revenue-producing activities. Numbers 3, 4 and 5 are helpful as well, because by building the right habits you will build your business!

Habits and personal growth strategies are what fuel six-figure entrepreneurs. If you want to become a six-, seven- or even an eight-figure entrepreneur, your path to success lies in the habits you're building and living each day. Here are five habits successful leaders use to build outstanding businesses and create a life of freedom.

1. They set aside time to make themselves a priority.

It's not uncommon for an entrepreneur to let the pull of family, responsibilities and pending tasks keep them from making themselves their first priority. You can't give what you don't have, and that's what too many of us try to do.

Most entrepreneurs start a business to have freedom and a life that's exciting. If you spend 95% of your time doing things for clients, potential customers, family and friends, life will feel like nonstop work.
As a nurse entrepreneur for more than a decade, I've been around the block a few times at this point and have seen so much of the ups and downs of this particular professional journey. While I'm not specifically a business coach, my career coaching practice and experience as a nurse business owner have taught me a thing or two about getting a business up and running — and keeping it going. Nurses come to me on a regular basis expressing a desire to work for themselves, and I have cause to believe that this growing wave has yet to crest. So what is a nurse to do if they feel the entrepreneurial itch?

What Does A Business Do?

As a board member and avid fan and supporter of the National Nurses in Business Association, I'm consistently reminded that many nursing professionals would like to be business owners but aren't sure how to get started.
