Dear Nurses,

I am loving your emails sharing the excitement over our upcoming conference in 2 weeks! Our speakers are amazing and did you know that the NNBA has several speaker members that have the prestigious CSP® designation? This is awarded by the National Speakers Association and less than 10% of speakers in the world have this title. Saturday’s keynote address, Dr. Louise Jakubik, and speakers Sharon Weinstein and Donna Cardillo each have been awarded this title! We have a great lineup of Speakers, Break-out Sessions and Round Table Topics. Plus our Shark Tank Competition with awards and prizes! There's room for one more Shark Tank Competitor, if you are registered, why not give it a try.  Enter here

Our discounted room block has sold out! Please let us know if you have not already made your reservation and we will try to work with the hotel to get you the best room rate. Don’t miss out on this unique golden opportunity to learn from the best and expand your network! Register here!

The articles below cover public relations, LinkedIn strategies and how Jeff Bezos helped Amazon gain and maintain its reign as the largest and most successful Internet retail company in the world. Your network is your net worth! I am a big believer in that statement and find that networking extends into all areas. As a mom, my mom network is invaluable as we help each other with carpools, referrals to doctors and sports clinics, etc. Of course my favorite network is the #1 Nurse Business Owner Network, the NNBA! I am looking forward to networking (building relationships) with you when we gather in Las Vegas, October 14 -16th.

Unconventionally yours,

Michelle

Getting noticed by the right person or publication could truly catapult your company to the next level, but the days of sending out scattershot press releases to big media companies are over. The game has changed, and so have the players. Today's public relations is about reaching select influencers in appropriate ways. An influencer, for instance a blogger who covers your niche, can be as valuable to your business as a leading newspaper, because he or she has the trust of your target group. It's all about audience--yours and theirs. These five tips will help you execute effective digital PR strategies.
I was recently speaking to a group of 700 project managers at a conference. The title of the presentation was, "Your Network is Your Net Worth: The Power of Super-Connecting." My goal was to teach attendees how important it is today to make networking a daily habit. In a time when every job is temporary, we're all businesses-of-one that must pay attention to the direction and momentum of our careers at all times. Otherwise, we could get blind-sided with an unexpected life event (layoff/firing, dying industry, relocation, etc.), and find it hard to bounce back.
As a child, Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos spent his summers fixing windmills and repairing equipment on his grandparents’ ranch in Texas. Though these experiences might have seemed insignificant at the time, today Bezos credits his summers tinkering with ranch equipment for his penchant for experimentation. And it’s his drive to push the boundaries of what’s possible that have helped Amazon AMZN 0.10% gain — and maintain — its reign as the largest and most successful Internet retail company in the world.
