Subject: Now Open | Application for the 2027 NGLA Volunteer Team

Message from the Executive Director

As we look ahead to 2027, I’m genuinely excited about where NGLA is headed. We have a clear set of strategic priorities—shaped by our Board of Directors and informed by our community—and we’re ready to bring them to life. But the reality is simple: none of this happens without our volunteers.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of NGLA. Across the Northeast and beyond, they bring the energy, creativity, and commitment that make our programs meaningful and our impact real.

That’s why I’m excited to invite you to apply for the 2027 NGLA Volunteer Team. If you’ve been looking for a way to get more involved, grow your leadership, and make a tangible impact on the fraternity/sorority experience, this is it. Whether you’re interested in shaping the NGLA Annual Conference, supporting year-round initiatives, or helping us think differently about what’s next, there’s a place for you.

We’ve built a range of opportunities with different levels of involvement, so you can find a role that fits your schedule and your interests…while still pushing yourself to grow.

And if someone comes to mind who would be a great addition to this team, I encourage you to share this with them. Some of our best volunteers started because someone else saw their potential.

I hope you’ll consider joining us. 2027 is going to be a big year for NGLA!

Tom Murphy

Executive Director

Apply for the 2027 NGLA Volunteer Team by May 11

NGLA is seeking volunteers for the 2026 - 2027 NGLA Volunteer Team that plans the NGLA Annual Conference, supports our Association, and advances the mission of NGLA!

The On-Site Conference Committee Positions must be available for on-site support during the 2027 NGLA Annual Conference, February 10 - 14, in Boston, MA. NGLA covers the cost of travel, lodging, registration, and meals. The estimated time commitment is 10 - 20 hours per month, year-round.

The Remote-Only Positions are not required to volunteer at NGLA events. Select positions are invited to attend the upcoming NGLA Annual Conference as participants with complimentary registration (excluding lodging, travel, and meals not included in the event). The estimated time commitment ranges from 10 hours total to 10+ hours per month.

All NGLA Volunteers are expected to attend regularly scheduled meetings and are encouraged to participate in programs to support the NGLA Fund.

Applications are due by Monday, May 11 at 11:59pm ET. Know someone who would be a good fit? We encourage you to share this application with anyone who could be a great addition to the NGLA Volunteer Team.

The NGLA Call for Student Staff opens in the fall and is an additional opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to volunteer for the Association.

“Volunteering with Northeast Greek Leadership Association has been one of the most rewarding professional development experiences in my career. From student staff to the conference committee, I have felt consistently valued and supported while gaining insight into different areas of the organization.

More than just a volunteer opportunity, NGLA fosters a strong sense of belonging—it truly becomes a professional home.”

-Camryn Wade, 2026 NGLA Education Programming Operations Coordinator
