Each year at the NGLA Annual Conference closing banquet, the Association recognizes outstanding chapters, councils, Greek communities and individuals with the presentation of the Amy Vojta Impact Awards. These organizations and individuals through their programs, initiatives and commitment demonstrate the mission of NGLA: NGLA builds community among students from a variety of fraternal experiences, challenges members to align their actions with fraternal values, and empowers advocates to transform and improve their communities.
Awards are judged on their individual merit in all categories by members of the Awards Committee. The categories are: Academic Achievement, Chapter Development and Leadership, Membership Recruitment, Multicultural Initiatives/Programming, Philanthropy and Service, Public Relations, and Risk Reduction. |
| | | | Remembering Larry Moses
The NGLA community mourns the loss of Charles "Larry" Moses, former University of Pennsylvania Office of Student Affairs/Fraternity & Sorority Life Program Coordinator for the Multicultural Greek Council. An ardent support of NGLA, Larry passed away on October 14, after battling cardiac-related issues over the past few months.
Amy Vojta, NGLA Board Member Emeritus, noted, “Many of us were so sad to hear of the passing of Larry Moses. It is an understatement to say he was a fixture.... an 'old head', a big part of the Region I AFA, and NGLA family. Larry's generous spirit and larger than life presence will be missed.”

| | | | Sigma Kappa Foundation supports Annual Conference scholarships and program development | | | The Sigma Kappa Foundation has granted the Northeast Greek Leadership Association (NGLA) a $1,000 grant to be used toward programming and resource development for the Association. A portion of the grant will provide two registration scholarships for Sigma Kappa members to attend the annual NGLA conference, to be held in Hartford, Connecticut from February 21-24, 2013. | | | | | | NGLA and Syracuse to host 3rd Annual Values Academy | | | This one-and-a-half day event, being hosted at Syracuse University on Friday, November 16 and Saturday November 17, will offer specific training and education for students, chapter advisors, and higher education professionals committed to the growth, support, and development of culturally based fraternities and sororities on college campuses throughout the Northeast. Registration is $30 ($50 for non-NGLA members). | | | | | NGLA drive-in conferences update | | | 130 students and a handful of professionals gathered at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI on Saturday, October 27 for the New England Greek Summit (NEGS). Many attendees left with new relationships and ready to tackle the issues facing their communities.
