NGLA Board of Directors Leadership Update

The Northeast Greek Leadership Association is excited to welcome a new Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and recognize our outgoing Executive Director.
NGLA Welcomes a New Executive Committee
Inaugural Chairman | Katie Hartmann

Katie Hartmann currently serves as the Executive Director of Theta Phi Alpha Fraternity. Prior to working at Theta Phi Alpha, Katie worked as the Associate Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life at Pace University. Katie has been involved as a volunteer for NGLA since 2011. Katie earned her Bachelor's in English from Davis & Elkins College and her Master's in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her two children, Clayton and Gigi, and with her partner, Marc.

"I’m thrilled to be serving NGLA on the leadership team as we transition with our first paid executive director. I’m excited for the challenges and opportunities this shift will bring to NGLA and am honored to have been selected by the other board members to serve as our first chairman. I know that the members of the board have the skills to lead the Association to new areas of success."

Inaugural Assistant Chairman | Nicole Cronenwett

Nicole Cronenwett serves as the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Radford University and is a proud member of Alpha Omicron Pi. Nicole earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Bowling Green State University. She enjoys volunteering with the Junior League of Roanoke Valley and spending time with her husband Craig and two adorable dachshunds.

“I am thankful for the continued opportunity to serve NGLA and to do so in a new role. I absolutely love NGLA and very much believe in its mission to educate fraternal leaders to transform their communities and align actions with values. As we start a new academic year, I look forward to supporting our new executive director, team, and the many wonderful volunteers who give countless hours to make sure we are providing the very best to those we serve.”

Treasurer | John DiSarro

John DiSarro has been an active volunteer with NGLA for over a decade. John serves as the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at the University of Rochester, where he’s worked since 2009. John earned his Ed.D. at the University of Rochester in 2020. John is also on the Board of Trustees for the Alpha Chi Rho Educational Foundation. He loves skiing, escape rooms, volleyball, trivia competitions, rooting for Philadelphia sports teams, and being really tall.

“Yeah, I’m still here. NGLA remains a constant in my life, and I still learn new things after 15 years serving the Association. I hope you are also so inspired by NGLA that you stay long after the other volunteers can’t understand your ’90s pop culture references but still enjoy having you around.”

- John DiSarro
Secretary | Tori Succi

Tori Succi serves as the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Development at the University of Connecticut. Tori earned her Bachelor's in Public Relations and Dance and Master’s in Higher Education and Leadership Policy from Hofstra University. As a volunteer in many capacities across the field, her most rewarding role is volunteering for her own organization, Phi Sigma Sigma, as the Chapter Key Advisor to Quinnipiac’s chapter. She is super excited to be joining the NGLA Board of Directors and cannot wait to see what opportunities await to connect with the rest of our Northeast community!

“I am honored to be taking on this secretary position as a newly initiated member of the Board of Directors. I look forward to working with this team to make NGLA the best it can be!”

Thank You to the Outgoing Executive Director Michael Davis

The Northeast Greek Leadership Association offers great appreciation for outgoing executive director, Michael Davis. Michael has served as the executive director since 2021 and will continue to serve on the Board of Directors.

Michael Davis states, “Leading NGLA for the past two years has been
an opportunity like no other — one that I am grateful for due to the incredible team of volunteers that has allowed NGLA to dream big and achieve even more. When I started in this role, I noticed quickly that in order for NGLA to maximize our mission, we needed to expand our capacity through a more sustainable model. I am thrilled to see NGLA move forward under the leadership of Tom Murphy and Katie Hartmann and am grateful for the opportunity to remain on the board supporting NGLA’s vision."

Chairman Katie Hartmann states, “Michael’s tenure as the executive director of NGLA saw the Association through the return to in-person events post COVID-19 related restrictions. This return to in-person events came with its own precautions and hesitations. Michael led NGLA through it with grace. Additionally, he was instrumental in hiring our first paid executive director. This pivotal governance change will inevitably have a long-lasting effect on the reach and opportunities available to NGLA. We were honored to have Michael in this leadership role and are happy to have him complete his term as a member of the Board of Directors."

NGLA is grateful for Michael’s service to advance the Association.
