Remember when you were a kid and Summer vacation was about to end? We tried to cram every bit of fun into that final few weeks. Well, we don’t have to be kids to make time to play. In fact, playing is healthy at any age. Playtime brings balance to the work and chores of our daily lives. This is the perfect time to start making time for the fun things that make your soul sing. Here are some ideas to enjoy plenty of playtime at Summer’s end and year-round:

• Retreats are like summer camps for adults. You can search online to find a retreat near you, like my Sense-ual Woman™ Retreat Day. We’ll be having lots of fun dancing and exploring together! Retreats come in all shapes and sizes so there’s something out there to fit everyone’s idea of fun. 

• Break out the games! Twister, Balderdash, Pictionary...whatever games you love. Get them out and play them with friends and family. Family game night is a great way to play and anyone can do it, no matter what age or stage of health you’re in.

• Hit up the street fairs, farmer’s markets, or even thrift shops and find art that reminds you of summer and the playtime activities you love. Having things in your home that keep playfulness alive year round can really make cold or rainy days seem less oppressive, especially if you’re prone to weather induced melancholy.
