| | | Hi Friend,
Just when we’re ready for summer, San Diegans are hit by June Gloom - those heavily overcast days that tend to make us melancholy and zap our strength. This is why I like to spend May gearing up to counter June Gloom with my own brand of joy. We don’t have to let gloomy weather get us down. Our happiness comes from within and we can make it so strong that whenever bad things happen or we find life’s gloom (or someone) raining on our parade, we won’t be shaken from our path. We can take the gloom and make our lives bloom. Here are a few of the things I do to make my June bloom: 1. Take a dance class to free your soul and boost your endorphins! Teaching belly dance has always been a source of happiness for me. You can find my class schedule online here. 2. Eat fresh sunshine. That’s right! Plant a citrus tree in your backyard and you’ll have fresh lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits every day. Citrus is high in vitamin C and that’s like liquid sunshine for our bodies. 3. Clear the fog from your head by setting goals. When we have a clear idea of how we want our lives to be, we won’t get lost in the fog anymore. These are just some fun ideas for inspiration.
