THE TAX BILL, PROPOSED FAFSA CHANGES & PAYING FOR COLLEGE
I was planning on sharing information on year-end strategies to help maximize financial aid, but with all the news this week on the tax bill and proposed changes to reauthorize the federal law overseeing higher education, it's more important families understand how all this will impact paying for college.

Two major events occurred this week:  the first, the passage of the tax bill by the Senate, with major implications for colleges, education tax credits and student loan interest; and the second, the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, which oversees federal financial aid.

There's a lot to absorb, so we've summarized the changes in these two articles, along with what it means to families figuring out how to pay for college.
