INTEREST RATES...ON THE DOWN LOW
We'll level with you, there's not been that much good news out there in the world recently, but you gotta take it where you can get it!

POUNDING THE SUMMER PAVEMENT, ONLINE
The pandemic is complicating everything these days, and that includes the summer for so many students who anticipated working and earning some cash for college.

Not only is it physically impossible to look for a job, but the "pool" of choices is limited as well. We've rounded up some ideas and resources that will help. How to Find a Summer Job During the Pandemic lists them all.
What’s Up Ahead On the Road...
For 10th & 11th Grade:
THE COLLEGE LIST DRIVES EVERYTHING

What list is that, you may ask? The list of schools your student will be applying to.

Building it takes some skill, and that's why it's the most important part of the college journey. When created correctly, the college list will ensure you and your student are on the road to academic, social, and financial college success.

Our Build Your Perfect College List program will be launching soon, so click here to get on the waitlist, and be one of the first to hear about when the program will begin.

For 12th Grade & College Students:
TIME TO UNDERSTAND LOANS

This is the time of year, as you're getting to the finish line of deciding where your student will go to college, when you need to turn your attention to - "how the h@$$ am I going to pay for it".

SHOP AROUND!

Just like with any other big purchase in life, it's important to shop, gather information, and compare your options.

Start getting an idea of how much private interest rates are compared to the parent plus loan (which is now 5.3% but with an origination fee of 4.236%).

The best way to gather your information is to apply to several lenders and then compare.

There are also a few student loan marketplaces (Credible is popular with many families).

The marketplaces are good sites to check but understand that not ALL lenders participate in these marketplaces, so you may be missing out on potentially better rates if you don't apply directly to some lenders.

It's worth your time to get all the information you need to make a smart decision.

We'll continue to share more information on loans and how they work in the coming weeks.
