HAS THE FINAL COLLEGE DECISION BEEN MADE?
April is a crazy month for college admissions. After months of writing essays, filling out applications and waiting, students received college decisions, families reviewed financial aid packages and many wrote appeals.

With days away from May 1st (National Decision Day), a few families may still be struggling to make a final decision. I say families because depending on the net cost of college, parents will bear a fair share of the financial burden so it's not a decision a student can make on his or her own.

Here is some advice for those in the last stages of decision:

And if the college decision is set, do you know how you'll finance it? Here's everything you need to know about the different types of federal and private loans available:

2018 MERIT SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCIAL AID SURVEY

For parents with students in 12th grade, please "pay it forward" to families that will be going through the college admissions process next year, by sharing information on the merit scholarships and financial aid offers your student received.

We are collecting this information anonymously. What's most important is to know if your student received any merit scholarships or financial aid and the amount of each. In addition, we are asking some other questions to categorize the results - the name of the college, your student's test scores/GPA, your state of residency, your student's gender, and intended major.

All the survey information is being collected anonymously. For those that would like to receive a copy of the results, there's a separate sign-up.

One more request - please share the survey with as many 12th grade families as possible. The more information we can collect, the better for everyone!
