Welcome to Day 4 of Building The Perfect College List!

In days 1-3, you learned the importance of campus visits and online visits, identifying potential majors and programs for your student, and how to evaluate the fit of a school based on non-academic factors such as athletics, financial aid, affordability, geographic location, and more.

The next question most families have is: How many schools should my student apply to?

In the video today, you’ll learn:
  • The number of colleges we recommend on a college list (and why that number may be different for your student)
  • Our secret process to determine whether a college is considered a reach, match or safety school for your student
  • A very important (and often overlooked) factor about safety schools
  • How to find admissions statistics

Click here to watch Video #4 now! (5:08)

After you’ve watched the video, we’ve included a handy resource for you to print out and keep on hand to remember how to quantify a reach, match, and safety school. Download it here.

YOUR TASK FOR TODAY is to take the list you’ve begun putting together, and write down next to each school whether it is a reach, match or safety school.

We’ll be back in your inbox tomorrow to share the last step of the 5 Day Challenge!

And most importantly, don’t forget to block off your calendar to JOIN US TOMORROW NIGHT AT 8:30 PM EST for a full hour Q&A session with Debbie, Russ, and Marisa. We’re going to bring the whole process together, and answer as many specific questions as possible. This is your time to get your questions answered!

Don’t forget - Marisa, Russ, and Debbie will be LIVE tonight 8:30 PM (EST) tonight to answer any questions you have about today’s part of the challenge.

Click here to watch the Facebook Live tonight!! (You can also view the recordings of Day 1 and Day 2 Facebook Lives here as well.)

In the meantime, we encourage you to post any questions, comments or concerns inside the group and let us know what you’re learning from Day 4 of the challenge! We love to hear from you.

Good luck getting started! We’re here to support you.

-Debbie, Marisa, and Russ
