The Law of Averages
Everyone’s kid is a superstar…to them, and in a perfect world, every admissions counselor would agree. But, in reality, the so-called “average” student can get shut out of the shout outs.

The good news is that college can present an entirely new playing field, and in Yes, Average Students Do Succeed in College” we show proof that B and C students have the opportunities there in which to excel…and very often, they DO!

Talking Turkey
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s no wonder we have turkey on the brain, but this time, we are referring to “talking turkey,” that is, “How To Talk To College Admissions and Financial Aid Officers.”

There are definite “dos and donts,” and it’s best to know what they are if you in any way desire to get what you want. No muskets here, just straight talk, and how NOT to be “that” person.

WORKSHOPS

This workshop will walk step by step through the online FAFSA form and  explain how your EFC is calculcated, which assets are included and identified as parent vs. student assets, should you use the IRS DRT, the pros and cons of using the new FAFSA mobile app, what documentation you need if selected for verification and more.

The recorded workshop, is led by Luanne Lee, a certified College Financial Planning Specialist with over 13 years of college planning experience in the financial services industry.

Whether we like it or not, the financial aid season is upon us. So to help ease the pain, we recorded our workshop on filling out the CSS Profile.

Now's the time to make sure your CSS Profile form is submitted correctly. This workshop, led by Christen O'Connor, Associate Director of Financial Aid at Dartmouth College, explains the philoshopy behind why colleges ask the questions they do. As she walks through the form, Christen shares the most common mistakes families make, so you can avoid them.

Do you want to make sure that your son or daughter answers each section accurately and appropriately, and submits the right information to portray his or her strengths?

We recorded our workshop, led by Marisa Meddin (Founder of Talk College To Me) “Conquering the Confusing Common Application: How To Avoid Filling out The Common Application Incorrectly.”

During this workshop Marisa showed exactly what information to include and exclude in each section to ensure your senior submits the strongest possible applications.
