OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- A high-achieving UW-Oshkosh alumni will speak during the institution's two Commencement ceremonies this spring, officials announced Tuesday.

Jim VandeHei is set to return to his alma mater May 18 to provide the keynote addresses at the school's 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. ceremonies in the Kolf Sports Center.

Green Bay, WI – On Thursday, April 25, the UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus will host “Cool Chemistry,” a free event to get kids interested in the sciences. “Cool Chemistry” will take place at University Theatre on the UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus, with one show for 3-8 year olds at 4:30 p.m. and one show for kids 9 and up at 6:30 p.m.

In the Junior Leadership Sheboygan County program, junior and senior students in the county participate in monthly sessions, each focused on a different theme of transitioning to post-high school life. These can address employment opportunities, local resources and amenities.

Sargento's Gentine family intends to purchase 52 Stafford building in Plymouth
SHEBOYGAN PRESS

PLYMOUTH — The family behind Sargento Foods intends to purchase the former 52 Stafford building in downtown Plymouth, following its closure and uncertain future.

The Gentines plan to purchase the hotel, originally opened as the Laack Hotel in 1892, and the H.C. Laack building, according to a news release. The Laack building was first a hardware and drug store.

WAUPACA -- A new transitional lodging facility and resource center is giving a helping hand to women in need in the Waupaca community.

The Middleton House held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to mark the completion of a $230,000 project which began last March.
