Georgia-Pacific to end coal usage at Broadway mill

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – After using coal for more than 100 years, Georgia-Pacific’s Green Bay Broadway mill will shut down the last coal-fired boiler on Dec. 28.

This follows the installation earlier this year of a second natural gas boiler at the facility, which became fully operational in September.

STURGEON BAY - Rogue Theater is launching a $150,000 capital campaign to help build its new permanent home, the DC Arts Center, LLC.

The center will be at 917 N. 14th Ave., Sturgeon Bay. It is a purpose-built facility that will not only house Rogue Theater but also serve the needs of Door County artists, performers and otherwise, to allow their talents to be viewable year-round.

Wisconsin Realtors Association: Home sales surge as mortgage rates hit all-time low

Existing home sales continued to surge in Wisconsin as mortgage rates hit a new record low in November, according to the Wisconsin Realtors Association’s latest monthly analysis.

The home sales report shows Wisconsin on a record pace for sales while continued low inventory levels pushed home prices even higher.

November home sales increased 15.2 percent compared to their levels 12 months earlier, and the median price increased 15.8 percent to $223,000.

An evaluation of the year-to-date figures reveals that sales are up 5.7 percent compared to the first 11 months of 2019. And the median price has increased....

MENASHA - Claims that the former Brin property would be redeveloped without taxpayer assistance proved too good to be true.

Wisconsin is launching the Wisconsin Notification App to Help Stop the COVID Spread

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers announced today the launch of WI Exposure Notification, a new mobile app to assist in notifying contacts, allowing close contacts of those with a positive test to take quicker action will go live for Wisconsinites next week. The voluntary app uses Bluetooth technology and is available for download in the Google Play store, while iPhone users can turn the app on in their phone’s settings. WI Exposure Notification complements the state’s and partner agencies’ efforts in contact tracing.
