Kiel High School students make use of new PAC area

The spring of 2021 was the first time Kiel High School construction students were able to use the new 2,000 square foot scene shop in the Performing Arts Center at Kiel High School.

The first project that the class was able to build using this space was a 20-foot gazebo in memory of Mason Lesczykowski. “This was an octagon building that we wanted to make sure we laid out correctly before going to the job site,” KHS Technical Education teacher Ted Bonde said. “The building is currently finished at Zielanis Elementary School if you want to check it out.”...

Rosendale company collects toys for Kentucky tornado victims

ROSENDALE -- A Fond du Lac County company is giving kids in Kentucky a reason to smile this holiday season.

R.A. Pinno Construction in Rosendale collected more than $21,000 worth of toys to send to tornado victims in Kentucky.

Wisconsin farms received $50 million in state support program

More than 20,000 Wisconsin farmers have received a total of $50 million through the state's farm support program this year, Gov. Tony Evers' office said Monday.

Altogether, the governor has directed $100 million under the program go to farmers harmed from a range of economic setbacks largely out of their control.

"From trade wars and supply chain issues to environmental issues, Wisconsin farmers and their families have faced challenges for years as they've worked to make sure Wisconsinites and families across the country could put food on their tables," Evers said in a statement. "Our farmers have always had our backs, and we've got to have theirs."...

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers announced today that 34 organizations, from Beloit to Phelps and from Pepin to Grafton, will share $1 million in grants from the WHEDA Foundation as they work to provide emergency shelter, transitional residences, and extremely low-income housing.

Administered by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), the WHEDA Foundation grants improve housing for community members, including individuals with disabilities, survivors of domestic abuse, individuals with chronic mental illness, those with incomes at or below 30 percent of the area median income, and youth experiencing homelessness...

Gov. Evers Awards More Than $27 Million in Grants to Event Venues and Live Event Small Businesses

BELMONT — Gov. Tony Evers awarded more than $27 million in grants to 204 event venues and live event small businesses throughout the state as part of his $140 million investment to support Wisconsin's tourism and entertainment industries.

“These businesses play a critical role in building a strong economy as they bring people together from all over the state and country for weddings, family reunions, business conferences, and so much more,” said Gov. Evers. “From Belmont to Washington Island, these funds will help bolster more than 200 small businesses and event venues across our state, which are an essential part of our communities and our state's entertainment industries.”...
