WHEDA and CSH welcome applications for the inaugural Wisconsin Supportive Housing Institute

WISCONSIN HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

MADISON – The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority and CSH are now welcoming applications for a first-of-its-kind Wisconsin Supportive Housing Institute. A webinar to answer questions about the application process will be held December 7 at 9 a.m. Information about WHEDA’s supportive housing initiative and the application documents can be found here; registration for the free webinar is available here.

In February 2021, WHEDA partnered with CSH – a national leader in supportive housing – to connect developers and community service providers with training and resources to expand the supply of much-needed housing in Wisconsin. Marquette, Kohler sign formal research partnership agreement
BIZ TIMES

Marquette University has signed a new partnership agreement with Kohler Co. that leaders say will pave the way for more collaborative research between the two institutions.

Marquette and Kohler said the contract establishes mutual agreement around intellectual property, licensing and other partnership terms, which will addresses one of the main hindrances to collaborating on research.

“This is a unique opportunity that not many universities have with companies, especially those with Kohler’s size and reputation,” said Dr. Carmel Ruffolo, associate vice president for corporate engagement at Marquette. “With a lot of the legal and business interests squared away, this allows our faculty who want to work with Kohler to agree on scope of work and their budget, and away they go.”...

MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL

When Andrew Fabry graduated from UW-Madison and moved back to Green Bay, he got together with friends Sam Yanda and Mike Servi and started Badger State Brewing Co.

The business has grown into a production brewery at 990 Tony Canadeo Run in Green Bay, with distribution along the eastern part of Wisconsin, from Milwaukee north. The fun project Fabry dreamed up with head brewer Sam Yanda and Mike Servi now has a devoted following for their lagers, hazy IPAs and seasonal stylings. This year they added...

Spirit of giving in Fond du Lac takes solar blocks to 100% fully subscribed
ALLIANT ENERGY

FOND DU LAC  – As the holiday season approaches, Alliant Energy is thankful to the community of Fond du Lac and proud to announce all 4,000 solar blocks for its community solar garden in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin have been acquired. The company reached this milestone thanks to a donation from the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes to St. Vincent de Paul Fond du Lac County. The Sisters acquired and donated the last 197 solar blocks to the St. Katharine Drexel Shelter, set to open in spring 2022.

“We are committed to the care for creation and want to extend that care and sustainability to St. Vincent de Paul as they build a much-needed shelter for those in need in the Fond du Lac community,” said Sister Jean Steffes, the congregation’s general superior. “Our gift to them is a win-win. Shelter is needed and clean energy is needed. Our hope is the solar block donation will help sustain the shelter’s operations by reducing their energy expenses for the 20-year life of the solar garden.”..
