Fox Cities Habitat Rocks The Block In Menasha, Fox Crossing
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR THE FOX VALLEY REGION

Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to ensure that everyone has a decent, safe place to live. Fox Cities Habitat’s Rock the Block program helps us fulfill that mission by providing low-income residents the opportunity to fix up their homes while adding safety features, reducing hazards and increasing pride in their home within the community. These repairs and enhancements are made affordable by reducing costs through volunteer labor and by offering a 0% deferred loan for homeowners.

Homeowners may have the means to pay their mortgage and home utilities, but sometimes lack the funds or physical ability for necessary home maintenance projects. Many residents are elderly and can’t take care of landscaping, maintain porches and railings or even afford new windows which help with energy efficiency and possibly eliminate mold risks...
Over 160 volunteers, many who were employees of generous sponsors, put in hundreds of hours working on more than 20 projects throughout Menasha and Fox Crossing from Sept. 29 - Oct. 1. They worked side-by-side with homeowners and the Fox Cities Habitat Senior Crew to accomplish these projects. Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region story above.
