Small Towns: Algoma charter boat becomes a bourbon boat
WBAY

ALGOMA -- Dating back centuries, whiskey makers have used the oceans and seas to help age one of the world’s most popular spirits. Now, a Wisconsin man is turning the freshwater waves of lake Michigan.

This week in Small Towns, we travel to Algoma where a salmon fishing boat had a unique job over the past three months.

It’s been an anxious wait.

Her husband not only survived; the couple has thrived. They are parents of five children ranging in age from 5 to 16 including daughters, ages 12 and 14, who are young entrepreneurs...

DOOR COUNTY PULSE

Families looking for fun – or golfers trying to forget a tough 18 – now have a new place to go near Peninsula State Park.

The Johnsons have created a new type of course on the site across Highway 42 from the edge of the state park. Their contractor built the base for the fairways and greens from shredded and broken recycled plastic pavers, which is in keeping with Evergreen’s environmental theme...
