More than half of all businesses responding to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s sixth monthly survey to monitor the COVID-19 impact in Wisconsin shows access to broadband internet is limiting employees’ ability to work from home.

Responding businesses pointed to internet bandwidth (53%) and availability
(29%) as significant barriers, even though only 15% indicated lack of access limits their ability to offer online services.And only a quarter of respondents have added new online services since the beginning of the pandemic.

Arch Electric completes state’s largest privately owned solar system

Arch Electric completed the largest privately owned solar array in Wisconsin history at Green Valley Dairy located north of Green Bay in Krakow.

The more than 1.8 megawatt solar field was officially put into service on Sept. 3, beating Arch Electric’s previous record of a 1.6 megawatt rooftop at an Ikea in Oak Creek, south of Milwaukee.

Those bulldozers and construction signs near the Lakeshore are laying the footwork for construction of BayCare Clinic’s new 46,000-square-foot facility.

Smart Girls Rock event offers expanded virtual format to showcase STEM careers to local female students

Fox Cities Chamber 
In an effort to inspire young women to engage in local STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) career pathways, the Fox Cities Chamber is providing the sixth annual Smart Girls Rock event in November. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the event is going virtual and will be available to all high school female students who want to explore interactive experiences with female mentors working in STEM careers and industries throughout the Fox Cities region.

This year’s virtual event will be expanded to three days instead of one. Each day will feature four different mentor presentations in a single STEM category. With registration, students will have complete access to all three days and the opportunity to participate in a variety of interactive sessions via Zoom with women who have achieved their educational and career goals in STEM.
