Pitch Night for 1915 Studios - First cohort completed the 1915 Studios accelerator program

The 1915 Studios program culminated with a Pitch Night on Aug. 31, an open event that offered a unique opportunity for startups, entrepreneurs, investors and community members to commingle.

At Pitch Night, participating 1915 Studios companies give a five-minute pitch in front of a captive audience of students, potential investors, mentors, entrepreneurs, family and friends. 

1915 Studios is a program of Georgia-Pacific and nationally-ranked startup accelerator gener8tor. Companies that completed the program are Saneex, Luys Systems, Compel, Altitude Medical, and northeast Wisconsin company Roving Blue....
Local startup spins Leadership Fox Cities idea into developing app
FOX CITIES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Local entrepreneur Ryan McMurtrie has developed a tool designed to bring together people who think differently to discuss complex issues in a respectful way. The idea, Collective Reflection, is a web-based tool with plans to become an app after beta testing is complete.

The tool, designed by Blue Door Consulting, is used in a group setting where two individuals square off on a crucial and contemporary topic in front of an audience of spectators. Spectators vote to rate the conversation based on respect, time management, open-mindedness and accuracy used by the debaters. The debaters see real-time reactions to their conversations, providing a feedback loop that results in civil discourse...

SISTER BAY - There's more than just craft beer to talk about at Door County's newest microbrewery, which is part of the idea behind it.

Just opened July 6 as Sister Bay's first microbrewery, Peach Barn Farmhouse and Brewery is getting started by pouring five summer-style beers from its taps for guests at its property, just north of the Pirate's Cove and Johnson Park mini-golf courses on State 42. It also makes a hard seltzer and sells canned four-packs of its brews and the seltzer as well.

SHAWANO — When Jim Leunberger started the Shawano County Barn Quilt Project in 2010, his goal was to make 20 unique barn quilts.

“Our first full year we put up 96," he said. "And then in 2012, we put up another 87. So my estimate was a little bit off."

Now the 'Barn Quilt Capital of the Country,' Shawano County has 375 barn quilts and counting..
